This Privacy Policy explains how willsolicitor.ie ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts. willsolicitor.ie is a solicitor referral service — we are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice.
Who we are
willsolicitor.ie operates a free matching service that connects people in Ireland with independent solicitors who handle wills, probate, estate administration and enduring powers of attorney. For data-protection purposes, willsolicitor.ie is the data controller for the enquiry information you submit through this website.
What information we collect
When you complete our request form, we collect the details you choose to provide:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- Your county and the type of service you need
- Any details you include in the message field about your situation
Please do not include sensitive details such as PPS numbers or financial account information in your enquiry — that comes later, directly with your solicitor.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide for one purpose: to connect you with a suitable wills & probate solicitor and to enable that solicitor to contact you about your request. We do this on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit the form. We do not use your details for marketing and we never sell your data.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is shared only with the independent solicitor we match to your request, so they can contact you with a quote. That solicitor is a separate data controller and will handle your information under their own privacy policy and their professional obligations to the Law Society of Ireland.
We use Google Workspace (Google Sheets and Gmail) to receive and store enquiries; Google acts as a processor on our behalf. We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area except under the safeguards those services provide.
How long we keep it
We retain your enquiry only for as long as needed to make your match and for a reasonable period afterwards to deal with any follow-up or dispute. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time (see your rights below).
Cookies & analytics
This website may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
